Capturing birds in flight is always a challenge, and I just thnk this pic is wonderful. Nice catch! (and I agree with you about PS - if it can't be fixed with a bit then I throw it out!!)

Susanne,

All my pictures are as captured, with some tweaaking in PS for exposure or brightness or other minor stuff. I shoot in RAW and do basic corrections with the excception of USM, which is needed for just about every pic since the digital captures usually always need sharpening. I usually don't even do my corrections in adjustment layers, as is recommedned by all the experts, simply because I feel it takes a little more time and if I need to correct a shot later, I'll just redo the whole thing all over. (Some argue that if you don't use adjustment layers, there is supposed damaging of pixels; I have not seen a difference in using adjustment layers vs. straight on the capture itself)

I know some photographers will photoshop in items to make more dramatic pictures, but, and no offense to those that do, I feel like you are cheating if you add something that wasn't there. Call me traditional, but I just don't do that.

The shots that I have of the moon with birds flying in front of are all as captured, that is why it has taken me quite a bit of time to get those shots. I have about four really nice captures - I think you have seen about three of them.

Beautiful capture. Did you use photoshop to place the birds? Or is that an actual capture of birds really flying before the moon?

Very nice catch, Henry.
