It is a garden that is being drenched
by a spring rain. The few flower that manage to stay up-right bend under
the weight of the rushing water.
I painted this in layers to help give it more
depth. I wanted the viewer to get a feel for the water as well as the flowers.
I put the paint on with the Impasto method to help convey more drama.
And used sharp brush strokes to convey the force of the rushing water.
An impressionistic view looking down in
a small area. Oil on canvas. 1998
