You can see the extra 1/8" plate
to build to desired height.

The encoder had to be installed on
this side because the eyepiece holder
on the other side would have been in
the way...

The stainless encoder bracket is hinged for easy
removal.

Note the pencil mark on the altitude bearing.
JMI suggests after getting base level, a one
time setup... Mark bearing.
