I disagree, though it may not happen in our lifetime, it could happen in the future if they can move beyond the violence that has wracked that country for decades. Islamic culture and progress can coexist in a country so long as those who are in power recognize that it can exist together. As it stands right now, in most cases brutish and violent members of an extremist wing of Islam has the country in an iron grip, and they are having a hard time letting go. People have an amazing way to heal from tragic consequences when it is safe to do so. At this time it isn't safe to move on, but eventually it will. I'm not advocating for the foriegn powers currently in occupation there, but there will come a time where we can all align together to move forward in this world. Pessimism only continues the problem.
