I'm a mexican physician. A did my social service en Creel. I'd been in a lot of places all around the world. And I can stand the same comment that Frank did. This is one of the most beautiful villages of the Sierra Madre. This is one of the "have to go" in your life. If the backpacking is your thing. They are some good places to go not just Creel. GO!!! You won't regret doing it.

My wife and I toured the Copper Canyons about two years ago and stayed at Creel Best Western. I have traveled to many countries and this was one of my faviorite spots.
I can kick myself because we visited the mueseum there and I saw this beautiful black pottery that I didn't buy because I was afraid it would break on my way. I wish I can find on internet and purchase.
Just so you are aware I did make your picture my desktop photo and I just love it.
I actually saw this at train depot, which the train was late as always, but it was exciting to see the culture as I waited.
Highly recommend everyone to visit but it is not an easy trip.
But the scenic view was well worth it.
I live in Madison Wisconsin and recommend all to visit.
