This little project is for historical purposes only. I realize there are probably far better aerial shots of the Tahoe National Forest that have been taken in the digital age, so these are meant primarily for those Forest Service employees that might find them useful. Note that these images are nearly 20 years old now, and the slide scans offered here are without a lot of clean up.
They were taken through the aircraft window, and no matter how good your lens is, it's only as good as the worst piece of glass.
I have much larger versions if any one is interested in obtaining them.
A shout out to anyone who recognizes the locations, please leave a comment on the image page. Like I said, it's been almost 20 years since I took this approx. 3 hr. flight, so most of my location guesses are just that, guesses. Maybe somebody could pass this on to Pete Korber, Les Becika, Todd White, Tom Madrigal, or Bruce Wicks, who was the spotter on this flight, so I can properly identify locations. The pilot's name is ??? still unconfirmed.....
