this was my first attempt at any form of IR photography.
i bought the Hoya Infrared(RM90) filter the evening before i left.

i would be appreciative of any comments from experienced IR photographers,
especially those doing digital.

if you have no experience with IR i will happy if you simply let me know which ones you like.

hi Chris, thanks for your comments on my IR photos. I can feel my images getting better with the feedback i have been getting. actually, as i still consider myself a novice photographer, the main focus of my photographic development is really regular colour images. the IR photography was just something i thought of doing because angkor is such a photographed location it was one way for me to do something different and at the same time learn a new skill. I will definitely check out your galleries. cheers!

Pygmy, I really like the new Angkor pictures you've put up (the ones on the right)! I've just started playing with IR using my S2. Usually what I will do, in Photoshop, is to desaturate the picture (to make it black and white), adjust the levels, and then "tint" the picture with a color using Hue&Saturation. It looks like you did something similar. I also did something like Michael suggested...combined a color photo and an IR photo: http://www.pbase.com/image/19846083 and http://www.pbase.com/image/19846084 Chris

Nice images, first IR I've seen from Angkor. You may get a bit more detail by adjusting the levels in Photoshop. If you shoot an RGB image and IR color image of the same scene, there is another way to combine them for spectacular IR color. See my IR galleries for details.
