I was reminded of something very important by my 11 year old daughter today. Had my camera on a hike today when she asked me it she could borrow it to take some shots -- "sure", I said - happy that she was interested in photography.
I guessed that she might not get things quite right on this camera with so many knobs and dials... but what the hell.
So she took about a dozen photos. Of these, at least half were absolutely gorgeous shots of ordinary items - like the photo shown here (or click on NEXT for another of her shots). She saw them for what they were, beautiful everyday things, and just pressed the button.
#1 daughter - thanks for reminding me to forget about the knobs and dial, levels and zones, DOF and bokeh... and just SEE.
