Very fascinating images. I've never seen so many snakes at once - is this a special breeding/gathering place? I've seen very few snakes this summer here in northern Wisconsin.

Nice collection of snake images with great detail in the up-close and personal ones. I always wanted to visit Narcisse, however, I never made it. You gallery is a fine tribute to what I missed.

Great photos. Takes me back to my childhood when I used to go out and catch boxes of Garter Snakes and bring them home. I can still remember my mother reacting to the 40 or 50 snakes that escaped the cardboard box in the Rec Room. Some of your photos actually made me smell the musky odor of the snakes. Thanks for sharing.

What a thrill it must have been to photograph a snake pit! I hope some day to get to Narcisse. Encountering just one snake is exciting. This must be amazing.
