NEAT Baustelle / Building the longest tunnel on earth [15-March-2004]

This pictures are from inside the NEAT (Neue Alpentransversale / New tunnel trough the european alps) tunnel. The tunnel is build for trains which will travel very fast and shorten this way the transfertime from northern europe to south. It is build by the swiss governement and it will be the longest tunnel in the world. Further information can be found at the official website: http://www.neat.ch/pages/e/index.php I made the pictures under very low light condition. All of them were shot at 1600 ASA/ISO or 3200 ASA/ISO. They were sharpend (usm) and resized. No further enhancement is done. The Canon EOS 10D is really very impressive, as the tunnel is also. Since it was a guided tour, I wasn't able to use a tripod.
