Santa Susana Pass July 2006

When I was a kid, this was the only way to get from San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley.
It was also the location of the ranch for Charles Manson & his deranged followers.

Bordering Chatsworth Mtns & now the 118 Freeway, it was caught in the horrible fire of
Sept/Oct. 2005, that torched 25,000 acres & took more than 3000 firefighters to contain.

We could see flames at the ridge of our small valley here, & the sun was an awful colour
for days... The kids' schools closed down & ashes floated in the wind. It was very freaky.

Now, almost a year later, I was surprised to see that there are still obvious remnants from
that fire all thru Santa Susana Pass. This Gallery is dedicated to all who were affected by
this enormous & devastating fire.

Details of it can be found at http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/30/california.wildfire/index.html
