Technique - This shot is taken using Window Lighting (this time side lighting). I covered the background using black clothes (well mainly black T-shirts - having to improvised with the lack of material). The sunlight was rather harsh but you may be able to diffuse it (in this case I used alluminium film) by placing the diffuser opposite the source of the light. Turn the WB to shady mode (as opposed to cloudy). As the lighting was rather harsh, I also used a ND graduated filter to bring out the details of the fruit and reducing the contrast caused by the shadow. I also used a polarizer to saturate the colours and to cut out unwanted reflection. As these filters will reduce the exposure, this enables the shot to further reduce the harsh light caused by the intense sunlight. Further post-processing were carried out using Photoshop - in this case the level, reducing contrast and further colour saturation. Hope you have fun attempting your own still life. This shot is inspired by Lee Frost's Teach Yourself Photography.
