In February 2010, Kathy, Norah, and myself took a family vacation to southern California. When we left New York City the snow was measured in feet, but upon arrival to Los Angeles it was sunny and 70 degrees. Quite a change from New York!

The plan was for Kathy and Norah to sight see and visit friends in LA, while I took a short 3 day trip to Death Valley National Park. Afterwards, we planned to regroup in LA and visit Channel Islands National Park and Joshua Tree National Park over the remaining 5 days. Fortunately, the plan worked perfectly and sunny SoCal proved to be a wonderful break from the brutal New York winter.
