As always, I'm surprised when we hit another month. Where does the time go? Norah turned 10 months while we were on vacation in Maine, where we split our time between Acadia/Bar Harbor and Baxter State Park. We all had a fantastic time and Norah loved exploring. She especially loved splashing in any bit of water she could find. We were always sure to carry extra outfits!
Norah has logged a lot of time on the trail this summer and we've discovered what's more popular than a baby: a baby on a mountain, in a backpack, or bundled up in legwarmers and a Fargo hat. Every time we take her hiking everybody wants to stop and talk to her. She reached rock star status in Baxter State Park where she was a star attraction on Doubletop Mtn. She was decked out in her warm weather clothes and happily playing on the summit. It was a busy day on the mountain and everybody who came by was surprised to see a baby and wanted to chat with her. People were even asking to take her picture. Luckily, it didn't go to her head and she just smiled at everybody while trying to eat everything around her. ;-)
At her checkup she gained a pound (now 18 lbs 5 oz and 29 inches long) and is in the 35% percentile. She's definitely a lean baby now. We might need another nickname besides Little Pudge! She's still crawling around like crazy, terrorizing the cats and getting into everything she can. She's been pulling up a lot more and likes to practice standing. As always, her fine motor skills are excellent and she's very good with her hands. She's been on table food and self-feeding for awhile now (although now it's a lot more throwing and dropping food. We really need a dog :) ). Hard to believe we're closing on on a year!
