The Oxbow

This is a section of the Snake River called The Oxbow. The Oxbow is significant because it is absolutely teeming with wildlife. On any given night one is likely to see elk grazing in the meadows, moose chomping on vegetation near the waters edge, beavers swimming in the river, swan and mergansers floating on the water, ospreys and eagles flying overhead. This is where a significant cross section of the park's wildlife congregate to feed.
