Day three was a wash as the weather was miserable all day. We hiked the two hours from La Flegre to Plan Praz and after starting up the steep ascent to Col du Brevent in heavy rain, winds, and cold temps we opted to take the cable car down to Chamonix and the bus to Les Houches. We stayed at Hotel Slalom, where we had our best meal of the tour. We would've preferred nice weather, but were glad we took the cable car as the rain never let up. The next morning it was sunny and we set out for Col du Tricot before it clouded up in the afternoon. We preferred to stay up in the mountains and chose Auburge du Truc for the night rather than descending to Les Contamines. This Himalayan style bridge crossed the torrents from Glacier de Bionnassay on our way to Col de Tricot.
