Once I began the ascent to Lake Solitude I ran into this mother moose and baby. I stopped well short and waited for them to move. They were not budging. I have heard that mother moose get ornery if you mess with their babies, so after about ten minutes of waiting I took a very wide berth around them. It was cool to see them on the trail though.
