A little ways south past the state line there is an overlook of the lakes just below the highway. Twin Lakes are in the upper right hand corner. It's hard to see in this picture, but to the right are imposing cliffs that are a sheer drop off from the road. Looking just above Twin Lakes you can see the sloping hill that led us down to the lakes from the road.
