Our third and favorite hike in the Lake Louise area was Eiffel Lake and Wenkchemna Pass. Due to grizzly activity this time of year hiking restrictions were in place. Hikers have to be in a tight group of four (minimum) and there was a ranger at the trailhead at Moraine Lake to enforce this rule. I think most people opt to hike to Sentinel Pass (awesome hike, we did it three years ago), so we were lucky to hook up with a couple from Germany that also wanted to do Eiffel Lake and the pass.
The trail gains elevation quickly on the switchbacks. After the junction with the trail to Sentinel Pass (around 1.4 miles), the trail continues in the Valley of Ten Peaks. It wasn't long before we were out of the trees and on the open slopes with fantastic views.
