We had incorporated a few rest days into our itinerary and luckily our pre-planned rest day at Carhuacocha fell on day 5. It rained off and on all day - definitely our worst weather day. We’re glad we didn’t have to hike in the rain nor miss out on views and alternate high routes. We didn’t do any day hiking this day, but did get to play plenty of Uno, read, and hang out with the various dogs around camp (Norah was very popular with the food she was sharing and as Victor said she had many “clients”). Margarita was watching a small boy for a donkey driver that lived nearby and we spent time playing with him too. Thankfully Day 5 was the culmination of the mediocre weather we had to start our trip; from Day 6 on we had blue skies and sun.
