Cape Cod 2012

We enjoyed our 2011 Cape Cod trip so much we decided to return for a second helping this year. We had a four day weekend over Memorial Day to explore the tidal flats, soak in the sun at the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, and eat our fill of seafood. We camped at Nickerson State Park near Brewster and it was a great base camp for our Cape Cod adventure. Our final roster of activities:

Friday: Arrive at Cape Cod (surprisingly, we hit NO traffic, yay!)

Saturday: First Encounter Beach for low tide in the morning, a stop at the Salt Pond Visitor Center and a walk around the marsh there, Nauset Light Beach (CCNS) in the afternoon, post-beach treats at The Chocolate Sparrow, dinner at Cap't Cass Rock Harbor Seafood, sunset at Rock Harbor, campfire and s'mores

Sunday: A walk on the John Wing trail to the tidal flats at low tide, Coast Guard Beach in the afternoon, dinner at Sesuit Harbor Cafe, sunset at Sesuit Harbor and Paine's Creek Beach, ice cream at The Chocolate Sparrow

Monday: Checking out the shops at Chatham, playing on Lighthouse Beach, going for a walk and visiting the visitor's center Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge, dinner at Sesuit Harbor Cafe, ice cream at Kate's Seafood

Tuesday: A visit to Sandy Neck Beach, lunch at Cafe Chew in Sandwich, return home
