Praying mantis.

A similar story to laryl's, although not as good a photo:

Found this on my tent between the fly and the tent. On the one hand, a stupid place to be, but on the other hand, not so stupid: she (he? how does one tell?) was not the only bug in there, and even while I watched, she did indeed reduce the population (like shooting ducks in a barrel). I got her out and put her on a tree, where she ended up backlit by the early sun.
