Hoar frost

Making this a more general gallery. It originally started Sunday 19 December, 2010, when there was a nice crop of beautiful long hoar frost (usually happens when there is fog or high humidity and very little wind, which gives the crystals a chance to grow very long). However, this happens again (happily) so I am making this more than just the one day.

Winter can be tough, particularly by February (the "February blues"), and some people I know say how tired they are of it (some are actively changing their lives to move somewhere without cold winters). But sometimes winter is spectacularly beautiful. No cold winter means none of that spectacular beauty either. Is it worth the price? Some days, "yes" :)
