Nitaure is a village in central Vidzeme, in nice, hilly area. Like in other places in the region, many peasants coverted to Russian Orthodox church in 19th century in a hope to acquire land. So now the place has a Russian orthodox church, besides Lutheran one that is the traditional denomination in the area.
