Truong had an excellent tournament. He was runner up to Khoa at the U2500 event. And then in the Open, after taking down Liu Xibo at the quarters, he beat the top seed, Weijian Zhang, 4-0 at the final 4 round robin stage. However, Truong ended up only number 4 at the Open because of tie situations.
