Yes, it's true that there is visible distortion at the 18mm end, and that's pretty typical for this wide a zoom range. Just for the record, however, the awning in this emergency room really *is* curved... :-) I'm waiting for the DxO Optics for this lens, which should help. I have had pretty good success for the Sigma 18-125 lens using such correction software, so we will see how it goes.

What a weird lens this turns out to be! Appears quite sharp, contrasty etc - but what a pity that it has such bad distortion!
