05062007 the story of the Big Pike

Sorry about another archive shot from our walky the day before yesterday, but with Dad so
busy at work it's either post an archive shot or nothing at all! Here we are admiring
the view across the lake. I happened to glance down into the transparent water and
what did I see but a very, very big fish swimming sinuously towards me! Well, that was
very interesting indeed and I watched the fish very intently to see what it would do.
Dad says it was a pike and will eat anything meaty that comes near it in the water!
I am not sure if I could take on a pike... I was very glad to be on dry land I can tell you!

Wise pooch. Pikes aren't so tough once they're out of the water ;-)

You might manage a goldfish Pooch, a pike NO.

Careful Pooch don't fall in and be a meal for that nasty pike!
(Are those rhododendrons in the background, Poochdad? Very pretty, whatever they are.)

Like the steady stance by Pooch here. Beautiful flowers in the bg.

I would have been looking at those pretty flowers reflecting in the lake
instead of the old pike, but then I'm not a Pooch! S'pose Dad was
thinking of pike fish & chips!!
