29032007 the scurrying vole

It's poured with rain today which has been very boring but Dad says it is good for the roses. Anyway, it gives me the opportunity to tell you about some more excitement during yesterday's walky. We saw something orange, furry and scampery running across the path and when it disappeared into a clump of dead grass there were some shrill squeaking noises. I wanted to investigate further, but Dad said that it was a vole and we should leave it in peace. I was disappointed but I suppose it was not as interesting as CATS anyway!
There seems to be lots of wildlife about now. We also saw a red admiral butterfly yesterday and many, many birds. I am sorry not to have played in any snow this winter but it's good to have an early Spring!

Nice shot of Pooch looking for new targets besides cats. :)

Nicely done. Voles are best left in peace. :)

Great shot of Pooch's instinctive stance.

wow. i am sure dad's right though. cats are more interesting.
you look like a real hunting dog there pooch!

Ah, a classic Westie stance. Zoey would have a tough time leaving that vole alone. There is nothing she enjoys better than chasing critters, except maybe eating human food of course.

Your very alert, Pooch, I can tell...but a field mouse is small fry, dad was right...leave it in peace :>))

On the alert there Pooch - the possibility of a cat or hare maybe? I'm glad to hear
that you are obedient when Dad says "no" - not like our naughty little Flossie!

Nice stance, Pooch - sure you are not a show dog??
Michael Todd Thorpe29-Mar-2007 21:22
Boy, look at that stance! Very nice, Pooch. I think Dad had the right idea, best to leave well enough alone.
