08072006 contemplating a very small hole

I got a surprise this morning. I decided to dig a hole in my lawn. This is something I like to do from time to time. Dad isn't keen, but he doesn't always understand what things mean to us dogs. Like rolling, for instance. Dad doesn't understand that. Anyway, hole-digging. Well, I got started but the ground was very hard! It's not like that when I dig holes in the winter. What's happened??

Watch out Pooch. We had a big dog who dug holes. One day we dug a big hole and put him in, he never dug holes again :-)
