16072005 lakeside

Dad was up very early this morning. I thought we might be going for an early walky, but no - he
was waiting around for the postman. The postman delivered an oblong package that smelled musty and
Dad ripped it open with much excitement. He left the wrapper strewn on the floor and being a
westie of course I started to play with it. But for once he didn't even notice.
That made me a bit annoyed. I mean, who likes to be ignored? I left in a huff and went to contemplate
life in the garden for a while.
When I came back, Dad was holding a big square papery thing delivered by the postman
in front of his eyes and still ignoring me.
Luckily Mum was on hand to take me for a nice stroll by the lakeside, where I wanted to chase this
canoeist but I couldn't because apparently he can float on water like ducks and I can't.
Humans are weird.

(dad: what can I say? I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I've been waiting two years for today! No
doubt I've got to wait another two years for the final book to be published. Anyway, today's
delivery has been read so I am back to normal now. Sorry Pooch!)

Pooch looks like he had fun anyway. I'm trying to save my new Harry Potter until my flight to Rome Monday. I hope I can wait.
