Gallery One: Travel Abstractions -- Unlimited Thought

I am using some form of abstraction in each image in this gallery -- hopefully to ask questions of my viewers, and stimulate their imaginations. When I abstract my images, I am honing them down to their essence, removing descriptive detail, encouraging unlimited thinking. I consider abstraction, along with incongruity and human values, as the foundation of expressive photography. Most of these images have been selected from my archive of digital travel impressions posted at http://www.pnd1.smugmug.com/ This gallery is presented in "blog" style. A large thumbnail is displayed for each image, along with a detailed caption explaining how I intended to express my ideas. If you click on the large thumbnail, you can see it in large size, as well as leave comments and read the comments of others. I hope you will be able to participate in the dialogue. I welcome your comments, suggestions, ideas, and questions, and will be delighted to respond.
