My mother was a Greek National, born in Egypt. My father was stationed in Cairo also as an MP after fighting in Italy (Project Avalanche) and met and married my mother there. In order to come to the States after the war, she was quarantined at Camp Huckstep for a month, before making the ocean voyage alone to the States to reunite with my Dad. Your photo provides a glimpse of what it might have been like. Thanks

Thank you for posting this photo. Just four years after it was taken, the Egyptian government turned Huckstep into a political prison. One of the internees was my grandfather. I've always wondered what it could possibly have looked like and now I know. Thanks!
