Superbowl Sunday

2005-02-06: Superbowl Squares

Today is the great American holiday, Superbowl Sunday,
famous for TV commercials and wardrobe malfunctions
and the championship game of American Football.

This year the New England Patriots play for the third
time in four years, and the Philadelphia Eagles play
for the first time in I don't remember how long.

Superbowl Squares let even non-fans enjoy the action.
You pick squares from the blank 10x10 grid. After all
squares are chosen, digits are assigned randomly for
the horizontal and vertical axes. You win if your
square matches the last digits of the scores after
each quarter or at the end of the game. Go Pats!

Update 2005-02-07: Great game!
The New England offense was uncharacteristically sloppy
through the first half, but the defense kept Philadelphia
confused and forced a lot of turnovers. All my squares lost:
1st: 0 - 0
2nd: 7 - 7
3rd: 14 - 14
4th: 24 - 21
Final: 24 - 21
