This aquarium I set up at home, especially for the Interzoo 2006.

Size: 80cm long - 40cm high - 45cm wide
Volume: about 150 Liter
Lightning: 3 x 24 Watt T5 (Daylight Deluxe)
Lightning time: about 8 hours
Fertilized Ground: Tropica AquaCare Plant Substrate
Bottom: ADA Aqua Soil Malaya
Fertilizer: Tropica AquaCare Nutrition
Plants: Utricularia graminifolia, Pogostemon helferi, Vallisneria nana
Waterchange: every week 30%
PH: about 6.80
KH: 6-8
CO²: 1-2 bubbels second (at the night switch off)

Hello Oliver; first of all congratulations for all of your aquariums, they are really amazing! I like this one very much, so I decided it's time to make an update at mine! I want to copy this aquarium you have made (in every single detail...); but I have a few questions for you, I would appreciate if you can help me... My aquarium is 80x30x40 (96L) and I have reached some stable parameters such as Ph= 7; Kh= 3-4; Gh=6; Tº=25º; and weekly water changes of 20%... I will add occasionally Fe and some other elements with the Tropica AquaCare Nutrition. I will change my substrate, lighting and add a CO2 sistem.. (Those are my questions...) 1) CO2: Maybe I will buy the “Ferplast CO2 Energy Mixer”; is a very suitable system that let reach the 1-2 bubbles per second… ¿what do you think; Is this enough for my aquarium size and this plants I want to have? This system has two kinds of CO2, the first one with yeast and the other one with a bottle… ¿Wich one would work the best?... 2) Lightning: Finally I have reduced my options to these systems: ----3 T5 x 24W; 72W Total (0,75W/L) ---- 2 PL x 55W; 110W Total (1,15W/L) Which one of these would be the most adequate for my aquarium? Besides this ¿wich kind of bulbs should I use? 3) For the soil… I wonder if it’s really necessary to put the Tropica AquaCare Plant Substrate, and above the ADA Aquasoil??? It’s because I have read somewhere that just with the ADA substrate the plants will be great!?... Why do you use the Tropica substrate? Also; ¿Why do you use here the Tropica AquaCare Plant Substrate instead of the ADA Power Sand? ¿What’s the difference between these two substrates? The Tropica substrate I can buy it here in Spain; but it’s impossible to find the ADA Power Sand… Another question; ¿Would I have any problem if I change the ADA Aquasoil “Malaya” to the “Amazonia”? I like more the darker version… And finally… I have noticed that sometimes for the foreground plants you use the Powder version of ADA Aquasoil and sometimes not… ¿Is it really necessary to be the powder version? Or could I work with the standard version? ¿Which are the advantages of using the powder version for these plants? Thank you very much Oliver… If I have success with my tank it will be thanks to your help an amazing ideas!!!

Sencillamente espectacular .... de lo mejor ... voy a copiar algo del diseño... pero antes una ayuda para poder armar uno de esos... que filtro usan , tipo de luz, abono, Tº, pidras de fondo, etc... Gracias por regalarnos esas lindas fotos...

Your work is simply marvelous... Unfortunately here in Argentina we do not have those type of plants or they very difficult to buy... and I think 'Tropica' does not reach here.

Hi, I noticed that u used the new tropica aquacare products in this setup. I was wondering is there a good alternative to the ADA aquasoil that you are using since they dont sell ADA products here in Norway. Finally got that U. graminifolia myself now from tropica, hope it grows as great as your tanks ;). You are a true inspirations. Keep up the good work.
