I went on our local Scott Kelby PhotoWalk on Saturday morning. We covered part of downtown Rochester, NY. This is one of the falls on the Genesee River. The left side of the image was taken as we started our walk around 10 AM and the right side is after we finished a little after noon. You can see that the river flow increased (the power company probably opened a gate somewhere just south of this area) by the time we returned to the Genesee Brew House for lunch :-)
Rochester used to be known as the "Flour City" because there were flour mills along the river. The area on the right of the right image shows some of what's left of the mills and these are starting to crumble with time and erosion.
This area is know as the "High Falls" area. The view is looking towards the south (yes the Genesee River flows north !).
