The back gate alright. I spent many shifts rolling through that gate while working Security and LE there. In fact I spent a few shifts riding with the aforementioned Chuck Oyler. We spent Thanksgiving one year guarding a crashed F-4 about 9 miles out in the brush outside the base. 12 hours with a crashed plane on Thanksgiving. They brought us Turkey TV dinners ...........remember that Chuck? LOL

Was stationed at George from 1979 to 1984. Was a Security Policeman there. This picture is in fact the "Back Gate". Spent many shifts there checking ID's. Was in the Air Force for 22 yrs. George was my best assignment...didnt really want to leave there but you know in the military you cant stay in place to long. Great friends and great times were had there!

Spent my last two years, 1970-72 there as an electrician on F-4's.
I think we refered to the gate pictured above as the "back gate" but might be wrong.
Good times of course but wasn't sad to move on with my life.
Made some good freinds there.
We liked going to the IHOP out in Apple Valley across from the Roy Rogers museum.
