George Air Force Base

Taken on my last trip through the base in late Summer 2008, this house is one of many in the process of being stripped and demolished. It is likely no longer there based on the pace of demolition I witnessed last year.

Amazing shots, I went to elementary school here during the late 80's right before my father retired and the base was getting ready to close. Brings back memories.

This sure looks familer. We were stationed there when my Dad Flew F-4s back around 1967 or 68. Lived in a housing unit just like this one. Had good times there. Joined my first Boy Scout troop and got my first rifle, a .22 lever action here. did alot of rabbit hunting and hiking down by the river.
