Just terrific work, Diane. Am I correct in assuming that the Hoya filter you're using would also would work on a Canon 300D?

DAvid, there are several plugins and actions I believe--one of them is on Fred Miranda's site I believe. http://www.fredmiranda.com/DI/ and here is a set of PS actions that include a fake IR action. You will definitely get better results from and IR filter however. Depending upon the camera you have, you may or may not be able to do IR successfully. There is info on the net about it--or if you can't find it, email me at picnic@charter.net and I'll send you the links.

Amazing IR pictures, Diane! I liked them all a lot, especially the "blue float in pool" one -- not the ordinary setting for an IR photograph (rolling fields of grass with accented clouds etc.)

Is there a way to create pseudo-IR looking photographs within Photoshop, or do I have to buy an actual filter?

How did you apply the "false color" and how did you did the spot coloring?

Oh, I'm sorry. I always forget to look at the forum on pbase. Yes, I do use unsharp mask on everything--color, b/w, IR. I have my sharpness setting at low and then do post work to please my eye.

Brian, Hi--I always forget to read this forum. I'm using a Hoya R72 on both the Canon G1 and the E10. The Wratten 89B would be the equivalent.

Looks like you spend a lot of time standing behind a tripod? Enjoyed your gallery and I will try get back often. Do you have to sharpen your images with software after taking your IR images?
