This series of photos are of a Tropical Parula found at Brazos Bend State Park. It is a rare bird for this area and this time of year. It only reaches North America in south Texas from April to May. Note the black upper mandible, yellow lower mandible. Note the blue-gray underparts, including the head, with greenish upper back. Yellow throat and belly, orange-yellow breast, white under-tail coverts. Large square white spots on outer tail feathers.
