Birds observed in Sugar Land and Missour City Texas
Welcome to my hometown bird photo gallery. Some of the birds pictured in this gallery are long distant migratory species that move great distances, usually between continents. The remaining birds can be found locally. The intent of the gallery is to give the viewer a sense of what types of birds they may find throughout the year in our local community.
In an effort to include as many birds that I have observed and photographed in the community, some photos aren't as clear as others. These photos are what I call, documentation shots. The intent is not to have only high grade photos posted here but simply birds that occur naturally in our environment.
Have a look at some of the birds in the gallery and let me know if you have seen them in the Sugar Land and Missouri City area. Make a note of when and where they were observed so that I can try to document them in my gallery. Thanks and enjoy.
I thank you for your fine pictures. I am new to this area having come from the great birding area--the foot hills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains out of Santa Fe, NM. I would like to attract birds to my small suburban yard, in Sugar Land, and would like to know what birds I could expect to attract. Could you suggest a good book or web page to instruct me? I doubt I would see the fine variety you have shown in your exhibit but I am not far from a really wild looking thicket area with open water that looks like it would be a good habitat. Will they all migrate to that area or can I persuade them to visit my more humble offerings? I don't want to invest in plants and accessories only to find I can't compete with nature.

Hi
I saw two birds at/near my back yard in Sugar Land. They seem to be a Hawk but I don't know which kind. Could you tell me if I send you photos?
