This was the first time I have seen a Snowy perched on a sign...and I wanted that photo. I stopped the truck a couple hundred yards back and made a game plan.

The Plan...It reminded me of the kids game ( Green light Red light )

I walked along the road side...two, three steps pause and have a look through the binoculars. The owl was in hunt mode and when looking away (Green Light) I would advance... then stop(Red light) and wait for her to look in another direction.

Each time I stopped I took a photo...at any moment the Owl could take to flight.

Talk about the "Longest Yard"...well I got to with in about 125-150ft. before the Owl tired of our little game.

What a delight to see...and get to play a little game of Green light Red light with a Snowy Owl.

As you can see Snowy Owls can be found on all major roads...lol
