CR 428 - San Gabriel River, Milam County

Spanning the San Gabriel River, in Central Milam County, is this Pratt Through Truss Bridge. At 272 feet long and built in 1911, it is in very good condition and still in service. It has a metal grate decking and very long approach ramps, the joints are pin connected. There is a plaque still attached to it, which is rare, with the names of the county judges who were in office when it was built. Except for the graffiti, it is a good-looking bridge in a great location.

Latitude: 30° 41 Min. 30 Sec.
