Ireland

Our family went on vacation to Ireland for the first 2 weeks of August 2003. It turned out to be everything I was expecting and, then, some more…

It is a photo enthusiast’s dream with the vivid blue sky mixing with the strong greens of the fields. The colorful houses (only the doors on Georgian city houses, overall multi-colored in the country picturesque villages) keep inviting for a portrait to be taken. Also, Irish people are very friendly, providing excellent subjects for the odd candid shot.

Absolutly georgeos site. Joe Mulkern here. I was in the USMC during the 50s. I am curious about the Marine Corps emblym on the Beech Hill Hotel. I am looking for the USMC Barracks Londenderry in the early 40s. Could it have been the Beech Hotel?

Wow! I’m so impressed with the excellent photo’s you’ve captured of Ireland – I’m originally from Ireland but living in the US now. Whenever I’m missing home I’ll be paying your gallery a visit. Barbara is right – you should submit some of these photos to Bord Failte (Irish Tourist Board) and see if you can make some money from them.

Your other galleries are fantastic too … I love the Cascais one … I stayed there for New Years 2003 and had a great time – I actually stayed in the Lighthouse hotel that you have pictured! Keep up the great work!

I love these pictures, they are so perfectly composed and reflect the Ireland I've seen during my different visits. I know some of the places and it reminds me of the wonderful time I spent in Ireland. I visited the Co. Kerry, The lady's view so beautiful (I managed to take a picture with a male goat looking down the valley - I took two photos, the goat looking at his "kingdom" and another one from his point of view, didn't go to close though and he kindly didn't attack me), parts of Cork, Wexford, Waterford, parts of Wicklow, Kilkenny and during an earlier visit Dublin (20 years ago).
