This is Beach Street...Canal Street is at the other end of Green Harbor, near the old Ranch House. That house belonged to my grandmother and granduncle. It was a rooming house called the Bridgeside, and the summer home for 6 O'Brien kids; Kay, Eddie,Walter,Fran, Bea and Mary. The Green Harbor gang used to jump off the porch and porch roof at high tide. Every Labor Day there was a goofy diving exhibition, and the gang used to put on foolish costumes, wigs and jump off the roof/climb up the rocks, run thru the house and out the window to do it again. It was hilarious! You can see a broken diving board in the postcard: my Dad, Freddie MacDonald would repair the board every summer. Even after the O'Briens moved to Bay Ave, in 1938,new owners of the house would allow these antics. I don't remember anyone getting hurt. The street would be clogged with spectators. That was the Good Old Days, and kids still jump off the bridge.
