Take a close look...the bird on top has his/her face covered in feathers and the one on the bottom is completely upside down. This is a serious confrontation between two owls not unlike similar behaviours seen with hawks, shorebirds and songbirds. Territolial all of them , no matter the species....A previous image entitled Great Grey Confrontation happened 1/2 a second prior to this spectacle.
