Large flocks of Redpolls ( there were over 100 in my yard in the Spring of 2011) attract predators like this Male Merlin. This tiny falcon and his mate buzzed my yard periodically and I saw the male take 3 redpolls over a two week period...right out of the air. The feeders were moved daily to make it safer for the finches ........
