Along Rt 66 in Oklahoma

The round barn is located in Arcadia, OK and
marked the shift from the hilly eastern portion
of the road to the trek through the plains. The
barn was built in 1898 by a German farmer. He chose
round with the thought that it would withstand
tornadoes. Volunteers preserved the barn and saved
it from the fate that has met many of the historical
barns in Illinois.

The Pop Bottle sits in front of a restaurant/gas station.

These are both wonderful structures. It looks like the old German farmer was right about making round barns because it is still standing. The pop bottle should withstand the forces of nature as well but I wonder if it will still be there in 110 years. Great shot, Bonnie. V
