The WACO Glider Museum at the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Normandy, France.
The WACO gliders were developed specifically for the D-day Invasion as an efficient method
of transporting soldiers and equipment to a precise combat area.
Crudely built from wood, steel frame and canvas these gliderscould carry over 4000 pounds.(2 crew & 13 soldiers)
