PR904 SFO landing on wet 19L runway

Oct 12, 2007. The tail end of a storm system passed through the San Francisco Bay Area. Runway 19 was in use for landing. Fortunately, PAL special flight PR904 from Manila landed at midday on a very wet runway thereby offering a most exciting and dramatic sight despite difficult shooting conditions owing to light rain and the lack of sunlight.

In this three shot photo series note that the reverse thrust spray falls behind the aircraft as it travels on high speed. But as the aircraft slows down the spray starts to engulf the engines and upper body. Go ahead. Toggle through the photos and check the difference.

These are incredible shots you took, 747 and its thrust reverser leaving behind a trail of artistic waterworks! I fly trainer Cessnas out from New York airspace, I wish they had a route here to JFK because NY approach would always guide our aircraft around as we pass over JFK airport and whenever I look to my left there is always a large jet on final and the traffic just right behind it can be seen especially at night, it would be a sight if it we're to come true so looking at these great photos helps me drive my desire to do what I can to get a pilot career for PAL, although there are opportunities here for recent bachelor graduates of aeronautics, like myself in the States, my passion for aviation wouldn't be complete without flying under the colorful banner of Philippine Airlines. Now 22 yrs old. I'm seriously considering leaving for Manila after 14 years of residence in the States and I'm searching for ways I can get admitted to PAL aviation school with the knowledge that the fee is 2 million pesos. Thank you for the awesome pictures...I can imagine myself being at the seat experiencing that runway condition.
