speaking of take offs, i remember when i was in early grade school we had our field trip at nayong pilipino. as we were walking outside one of the old houses, a small PAL jet was positioning itself on the adjacent runway. as its engines spooled, it made an extremely noisy wheezing mechanical sound. so i think that was a BAC 1-11.

Hi Allan, Yes, where T3 currently is used to be some hangars which housed PAL DC-8s and PAF aircraft. One of these days I will post an inflight video I took from decades ago when PAL used to take off from the Manila Domestic Airport and rnwy 13. The video shows taxiways, aircraft and hangars long before T3.

weren't there several hangars on the site where T3 is currently sitting? i remember as a kid, my dad and i used to visit villamor airbase yearly during their "airshow." it was open to the general public, and many pinoy children would visit. if i am not mistaken, there was even a cotton candy and/ or dirty ice cream stall somewhere near the entrance. ahh, the 80s...
